I have a 5 yr old son. We stayed at the Polynesian a couple times and love location but want to try another hotel. Deciding either Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge. We have seen and liked what they had to offer. Which would be easier & more fun for 5 yo?

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel, Julie! You are considering two of my favorite Walt DIsney World Resorts for your upcoming trip, that I have personally stayed at multiple times! As a mom of four children that range in age from seven to fourteen, I usually choose a resort based on the time of year and which parks we will be be visiting. If visiting during the warmer months, I cannot say enough about Disney's Beach Club Resort and the amazing Stormalong Bay pool. We schedule "resort days" when staying at the Beach Club Resort to enjoy Stormalong Bay (our favorite pool on property) and roasting marshmallows over the campfire with Movies Under the Stars at night. My family also enjoys being able to easily walk into Epcot via the International Gateway and traveling to Disney's Hollywood Studios via the Friendship Ferry (water taxi.) I personally prefer to stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge during the fall and winter months for the rustic atmosphere! I really enjoy staying at this resort location when spending the majority of our time at Magic Kingdom Park since it is easily accessible by the motor launch (water taxi.) I would recommend checking out the recreational activities offered at both Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge to see if either appeal more to your son. With that being said, if your little one enjoys pool time and you are planning to visit Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios during your trip, then I would recommend Disney's Beach Club Resort. If your son is not fond of swimming, but enjoys the "Great Outdoors," then my vote would be Disney's Wilderness Lodge! I hope this helps in making your decision! Please feel free to visit me again with any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Julie!
    Happy Planning,
