My 14yr old is running 1/2 Marathon Sept 3. Suggestions on 1/2 way spot to watch? I can't find a map of viewing areas. List on pg 24 of runners info isn't helpful. Is it even possible to drop her at start get to 1/2 way spot and then to finish?

    Hi Meridith!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations to your daughter on registering for the Disneyland Half Marathon, that is a wondEARful challenge for her to take on and you must be one proud Mama!

The spectator viewing points you'll find on page 24 of the Official Event Guide are areas you'll be able to view your runner on Disneyland Resort property. I would use these in conjunction with the Course Map on page 22 to give you the best idea, but these are certainly not the only locations. You'll also be able to watch her from really any point along the streets of Anaheim too! I would just try and set up a mile marker ahead of time with her so she knows where to look out for you.

I do think that getting to the halfway mark and back may be tough for you. I'd probably recommend seeing her off at the starting point and picking a spot that keeps you west of Interstate 5 if you'd like to make it back for the finish too! I would recommend somewhere approaching mile 5 for a good location.

When I ran the Tinker Bell Half Marathon, my husband was texting me updates of their location that I was receiving on my watch as I was running. This was great because I was able to spot my little one on the left side of the course just before the 13 mile marker because my hubby had given me clear directions and I grabbed a quick kiss from my son before dashing my way through the finish line. I hope you are able to share a similar moment with your daughter as you chEAR her on. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
