Hi there, pal! My name is Lindsey and I'm a wife, mommy, engineer and self-proclaimed "Disnerd!" I've always loved Disney and the joy it brings to so many people. I've been to Disney more times than I could count, but I found an even greater passion for all things Disney after discovering runDisney events in college. It is so much easier to find the motivation to train for a race when you know you'll get to run through Cinderella Castle! I always encourage others to challenge themselves with a runDisney event whether it's their tenth full marathon or first ever 5K race. I now share this love with friends, family and fellow Disney enthusiasts through blogging and planDisney!
About My Family
My husband and I met through friends in college and were married in 2013. In March 2016 we were blessed to welcome our sweet little prince and our lives have been full of joy ever since. My family has always taken Disney vacations, whether it's been to the Walt Disney World Resort, the Disneyland Resort, or even a Christmas at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa! Our Disney vacations usually include my parents and my sister's family with her two fun-loving boys. As my nephews grow older and begin to enjoy the thrill rides like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Expedition Everest, we are getting to experience the magic of Disney all over again through the eyes of our own "lost boy." The excitement from him recognizing Mickey Mouse at just 8 months old was extraordinary and reminds me again why I love Disney so much.
About My Disney Experience
My family has vacationed at Disney longer than I can even remember. I've seen pictures of myself in diapers in Mickey's Toontown and growing up I had cheerleading competitions at The Milk House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. To be honest, I can't even count how many times we've been to the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. My love for Disney deepened though after discovering runDisney and the majority of my family trips have now turned into "racecations." Every time I sign up for a runDisney event my husband jokingly asks, "Don't they do half marathons in Texas?" and I always respond back, "local races don't have pixie dust!" I've had multiple friends participate in runDisney events with me and I always prepare them for the turn down Main Street, U.S.A. The people cheering, Cinderella Castle in the distance and twinkling lights lining the street always bring happy tears to my eyes. It's something special I've never experienced during any other race and it's these magical moments that keep bringing me back for more!
