My 46 yr old daughter passed away in Nov. She was a BIG Disney fan. We are all going in 4 weeks on a vacation she had planned. Is there ANYTHING we can do as a memorial remembrance for her in Disney. Would of loved getting a brick, but no longer available.

Hey there, Jane! Thank you so much for trusting us with such an important question. I am so very sorry for the loss of your daughter, but I am glad that you will have a chance to remember some of her happiest memories at Walt Disney World.

Disney does not do the bricks any longer, but I did have a suggestion for you. A few miles away from Walt Disney World is a place called Give Kids the World Village. The Village is where children who are visiting the Orlando area on their "wish" trip often stay - a place where the sadness of pediatric life threatening illness is set aside for a few precious days of ice cream for breakfast, mid-week Christmas, and a chance to make the kind of memories that probably made Walt Disney World one of your daughter's favorite places. Anyway - the Village sells bricks. They look very similar to the ones Walt Disney World sold at one time, and the money raised from the sale of the money goes right back into giving kids what may be the happiest moment of their lives. It would be a beautiful way to commemorate your sweet daughter and have her memory provide some Disney magic for another mom's daughter.

While not as permanent, you can visit the attractions she loved, enjoy a meal at a favorite restaurant, and absolutely wear t-shirts with her name on them or grab a button that says "I'm Celebrating" - and have the cast member write in your daughter's name. The best thing you can do to honor her is to celebrate her, and I hope this visit to Disney brings your heart warm, heart healing magic.
