My 15-yr old daughter has an adult-sized Cinderella costume from the Disney Store. Can you confirm that even if she dresses it down (tennis shoes, no hair-do, e.g.) she still wouldn't be allowed to wear it in the parks? Are there similar rules in resorts?

Hi, Robby.  I can confirm that the policy at Walt Disney World is that anyone over the age of nine is not permitted to dress in costume as they enter the theme parks.  It won't matter that she dresses the costume down with sneakers or hair-do.

As you might imagine, some of the younger guests won't understand that someone dressed as Cinderella or Snow White isn't the "real deal".  Unlike those of us who are old enough to know that a princess never has a bad hair day or gets sore feet from wearing glass slippers, the little ones can easily mistake someone in costume, even if they are rocking their Converse high-tops.

The resort areas do not have the same dress code requirements.  And in terms of hair and makeup, your daughter could always get a princess hair style and wear princess makeup into the theme parks.  She could even throw on a tiara and really be a princess for a day!

I hope this clears up any confusion you had!
