I have a 2 yr old boy who loves Mickey. His father's never been & I want the first time to be magical. We are planning a trip but everyone keeps telling me that 2 is to young! Do you think I should put it off? If not what do you recommend doing?

    Kristen,

You are never too young for a Disney vacation!  I mean that emphatically - we've taken our girls since they were newborns and there is something wonderful to experience at every age.  I actually highly recommend taking him when he is little, because the magic is very real to little ones.  The delight he'll have at meeting his favorite characters will warm your heart, and even if he doesn't remember that for a lifetime, you definitely will.

Some of our favorite little-kid activities are:

    • the Playhouse Disney show and Hollywood & Vine character meal, both in Hollywood Studios
    • The Boneyard playground and Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom
    • Turtle Talk with Crush and Innovations in Epcot
    • Buzz Lightyear and It's a Small World in the Magic Kingdom

    A few other random thoughts:

    • The Magic Kingdom will hold the most rides and attractions for your son, so if your time is limited focus your attention there.
    • Try to attend at least one character meal - they are so much fun!
    • Pick out a character or a landmark where you can take your son's picture, and then recreate that same photo year after year for a personalized record of your son's growth.  Yes, I am assuming that once you have that first visit you will want to return!  :)

Have a wonderful vacation, and then come back and tell us all about it!
