My youngest is not a swimmer and the rest of the kids and husband want to go to a water park while at Disney. Which one is has the most activities for a non swimmer or should the 2 of us skip the water park and go elsewhere? She'll be 8.

    Michaelle,

Your should skip the water park and go do something else. There is not enough to do there that is non-water based to justify the cost of admission.

    So what should you do?

Make a Downtown Disney day of it for you and your 8 year old. Have your husband and other kids go to Blizzard Beach for their water park. This will help in your transportation to and from your resort, keeping you all together.

Start at Downtown Disney with some shopping. While the World of Disney is clearly a store to visit, I also think you will enjoy some of the more trendy stores, like Tren-D. To make her feel special let her design family vacation T-shirts for everyone at the Disney Design-a-Tee shirt.

For activities, go bowling at Splitsville, and maybe grab lunch there too. Check on what entertainment is on the open stage in the Marketplace too. Or if you want to be more active, rent a sea racer boat at the marina and zip around the lagoon.

Finally, I think making her feel like she is getting something they aren't is always a nice way to make her feel like she is not 'missing out'. I would think splitting an afternoon ice cream sundae at Ghiradelli's couldn't hurt!

About an hour before it is time for all of you to leave, go to the front gate of Blizzard Beach. Once there you two can go miniature golfing at Winter Summerland. It is located immediately to the right of the water park entrance, so when you are done, and they are done at the water park, you can all bus back to your resort together!

Write me back if you have any follow-up questions. Also, if this sounds like it MIGHT be a good plan, but I did not hit on activities that she would find interesting, write me back and let me know about some of the things she might like to do. I can offer more suggestions!

    Have a magical vacation!
