Yes, please, any more info about the GF w/b appreciated! Thank you!!

    Susan,

So we loved the Grand Floridian. I had stayed there solo, but you only discover all the charms when you are there with kids!

First off, the pool. The feature pool, located on the Polynesian side of the Grand Floridian resort, is great. I prefer the slide here to the one at the Polynesian, since it is open on top. We now dedicate one day to just going to the pool, and even rent a cabana for half a day. It is more reasonably priced than you might think. We get it from 10-2, and it serves a nice base of operations, and a bit of a luxury. The girls love having a place for lunch by the pool and to draw and play during swim breaks.

Second, the Child Activity Center. The Mousketeer Club is great. While small, the counselors are FANTASTIC, and the girls liked it so much they wanted to go back the next night!

While I am not a big fan of the counter service restaurant or the Grand Floridian Cafe, I do think that 1900 Park Fare is a GREAT place for breakfast or dinner. It is one of the more underrated buffets at Walt Disney World, especially for the food quality. And of course the other dining is pretty exceptional.

Finally, enjoy exploring the resort. My girls and I loved to walk the resort. At night they loved to see the pool and the beach. During the day they chased lizards around the grounds and finding lots of hidden areas of the main lobby building. Many of the other activities mirror what you can do at the Polynesian, but I think you will find they are done with a different flair.

I like the unofficial fan site for the Grand Floridian resort, wherethemagiclives.com, as it has lots of great pictures. You learn a lot about the cabanas and other features you might want to consider.

Write me back and let me know on what areas you want me to elaborate!

    Have a magical vacation!
