It has been 4 years since we were at Disney World. We are going this summer and staying off property. (we have always stayed on Disney property) Can I use our magic bands from 4 years ago to activate our new tickets? I am purchasing 9 day tickets.

    Travis,

The MagicBands have an official estimated battery life of 2 years. While I have had friends get them to work past that time frame, I would think it is in your best interest to not chance it, and to get new bands. I can only say from personal experience that when I travel to Walt Disney World I prefer to minimize any possible delays.

Sorry. I don't expect that this is the answer you were looking for, but better to be prepared than not. You can take a chance that they will work, but I would opt to purchase any of a variety of bands from the shopDisney store. They can be a wonderful souvenir for all in your travel party!
