Hi Lindsay!
I absolutely love the
Disney Dining Plan! We buy it every visit and it saves us time, money and stress. There is so much flexibility with the plan now as well. While you are not able to substitute a dessert for a snack credit for use later in the day or vacation, you can substitute your dessert for a snack in the same transaction. For example, if you go to a Quick Service meal, such as
Pecos Bills, and you don't want dessert, but you want extra French Fries instead, you can do that. However, if you want to save the credit from the dessert for a rice krispie Mickey Mouse treat later in the day, you can't do that.
However, there are many Quick Service locations that offer fruit instead of dessert. This is a great way to use your dining plan credit to have a snack for later in the day. At Pecos Bills you can ask for grapes or apple slices instead of fries. I will get one bag of grapes instead of fries and one bag of apples instead of a dessert, then I have two snacks for later in the day! It's a great way to not only eat healthy, but keep fueled throughout the day.

Magically,
