Hi Victoria, and thank you for bringing your question to
planDisney!
I consider myself a bit of an amateur Disneyland historian, but I have to admit that this question definitely had me scratching my head a few times. I’m not 100% sure about the ride you're asking about, but I have a couple of ideas.
My first thought is a ride that is still in existence today: the
Storybook Land Canal Boats inside
Fantasyland. There isn’t a plastic bubble, but Guests do board a small boat where they are taken around a miniature town of houses from beloved Disney animated films. Fun fact, the Storybook Land Canal Boats is one of several opening day attractions that still operate today.
My second guess is Innoventions, which used to house a Dream Home; however, there were no miniature people or trees that I can remember. This space was life-sized and allowed Guests to put themselves inside a prototype-like Home of Tomorrow.
My last guess is from a few decades ago, and it was called the Monsanto House of the Future. This attraction was built to show Guests the future of homes and of plastic. This ride closed in 1967 but saw nearly half a million Guests.
If I didn’t guess correctly, I hope you can solve the mystery. And in the meantime, if you love Disneyland history like me, I recommend that you watch
The Disneyland Story Presents Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln the next time you're at Disneyland Resort. The show itself is incredible and a significant part of Disneyland history. But afterward, Guests can explore a small area that usually houses some amazing museum-worthy Disneyland historical artifacts.
Best wishes,
Lola
