Hi Mindy,
I'm so glad you stopped by with your question because I completely understand your son being a little nervous about your upcoming voyage. I agree with you that he will love it and will be very sad when it is time to say goodbye! As a former teacher, I use to have my students become experts on areas that really interested them and now I do this with my own children. Since your son is not looking forward to your adventure on the high seas, I would encourage him to learn how a cruise ship is built, how it is maintained, and who takes care of it while it sails. My kids are all about technology so he could even create a Powerpoint presentation to share with the rest of the family. The
Disney Cruise Line YouTube Channel is a great resource. I'm not sure which ship you are going on, but the Disney Dream and
Disney Fantasy are the newest additions to the fleet, and I think you
will find lots of info about these vessels when you are searching online. There are several books written about Disney Cruise Line that you can find on online websites like Amazon.
The
Disney Cruise Line website also has a wealth of information about all the fun your family can expect to experience on your sailing. Be sure he navigates his way around the website looking through the information, pictures, and videos.
My last idea is to find out if you have any friends who have cruised with Disney and have them over for a Disney dinner party. I know they will be happy to share their pictures, videos and magical memories. I'm sure hearing about their vacation will make your son excited about the cruise!
Hopefully one or all of these suggestions will ease your son's nerves. If there is anything else I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
Nancy
