I have a 16 year old traveling with us (friend of my daughter) and she has her own Magic Band. She’s listed in my reservation it does not have her own account. Am I able to have her magic band assigned to her park ticket in my account? And if so, how?

Hi Cheryl, and welcome to planDisney. I’m excited to see that you’ll be at the Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few days! So let’s make sure you’re all set with your tickets and MagicBands.

If your daughter’s friend used her MagicBand on a previous Disney World trip, it may be connected to a profile on her own MyDisney account or a profile managed by an adult in her family. At Disney World, MagicBands aren’t transferable once they’re connected to a profile, so first you’ll need to add her original profile (the one with the MagicBand linked to it) to your Family & Friends List. Then you’ll need to add that profile to your Disney resort hotel reservation and link it to the theme park ticket you purchased for her. I’m happy to walk you through the steps to make this happen!

To add her profile to your Family & Friends List, you’ll need to find out if she has her own MyDisney account. If not, you’ll need to add the adult who manages her profile instead. Either way, go to your Family & Friends List and click the Add a Guest button at the top right of the page. Here you’ll add the name and phone number or email address of the person you’d like to add (this will be your daughter’s friend if she has her own MyDisney account or the adult who manages her profile if she doesn’t).

If your daughter’s friend has her own account, she’ll get an email asking her to accept your invite to connect. If not, the adult managing her profile will receive that email and, in addition to accepting the invite, they’ll need to do one more thing so you can make plans on her behalf. After accepting, they need to find you on their Family & Friends List and click the Edit Settings button to the right of your name. They should see the option to click the Connect My Managed Guests button. This will let you make plans for any profiles they manage, like linking theme park tickets or purchasing Lightning Lane Passes

Once this is done, you’ll need to make sure the correct profile for your daughter’s friend is linked to your Disney resort hotel reservation and theme park ticket. I’d recommend calling the Tickets and Hotel Reservations phone number, and a Cast Member will be happy to get everything sorted out.

It looks like next week is going to be a hot one at Disney World, so be sure to stay cool! Don’t forget that Disney resort hotel guests get complimentary water park admission on check-in day, which is the practically perfect way to kick off your vacation. And indoor shows are always a great way to take a break and get out of the sun. Festival of the Lion King in Animal Kingdom and Voices of Liberty in EPCOT are my absolute favorites, but there are also two brand new shows in Hollywood Studios--Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure.

I’m wishing you the most magical visit to Disney World next week! And if you have any other questions, we’re always here for you at planDisney.
