    I have a 2 1/2 & 1 year old. We stayed at the contemporary this past Nov. the late fireworks & lagoon parade from the xmas party almost had me packing up. Looking for a hotel that is quiet and accessible via monerail/boat. Wilderness lodge?? Pleas

    Tricia,

    I totally understand how the evening activities in the Magic Kingdom can cause some issues with getting a little one to sleep (at afternoon nap or evening bedtime). But I don't think you have to stay in another state to get a good night's sleep. You can still have a pick of a few different resorts, you just have to choose your room type within each resort. Here are my recommendations;

    Contemporary Resort: If you liked this resort, just not the evening noise, consider asking for a Bay Lake view in the main tower. You reduce the noise and lights from the fireworks quite a bit.

    Grand Floridian / Polynesian: Garden view rooms usually do the trick, keeping you on the monorail line, but away from the water-based commotion. Our last two trips were to these resorts, and we did not have a single problem with going to bed at night. We (mom and dad) could tell when the fireworks started, but they were pretty quiet 'pops' that did not wake our little girls from their slumber.

    Wilderness Lodge: Probably the best of all the choices, as the Contemporary, the distance from the Magic Kingdom, and the surrounding woods seem to cut off most of the offending noise.

    Now for ALL these resorts they still have the water parade. But you should be able to navigate through that with all the other serenity-inducing improvements. Of them all, however, the Wilderness Lodge is definitely your best bet. I would go with that.

    Write me back if you have any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical (and quiet) vacation!
