My 5 year old son has special needs (ADHD, sensory processing disorder) and we are looking at taking a Disney Cruise this year. What's the story with Oceaner's Club. He doesn't require a one-on-one but needs a bit more attention than your average kid.

    Hi Ellen!

As someone who works with students with special needs, I understand your concern for your son's well-being while in the Oceaneer Club.  When you board the ship, take some to visit the youth spaces and talk with the youth counselors onboard.  Discuss your son's needs so they can share with you how they can address them while he is checked in.  With a daughter and a son three years apart, I love that the club offers a variety of activities that interests both of them.  I'm sure you and the youth counselors can figure out which ones will be the best fit for your son.  Each day you will be given a Personal Navigator that will list the youth programming available for that day.  Bring a highlighter along and mark the ones that interest your son!

I hope this information makes you feel better about using the Oceaneer Club while onboard.  Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns about cruising with Disney!

    Have a magical day!
