Hi Jamiee! Welcome to planDisney, I am so happy you are here! I took my daughter to Walt Disney World for the first time when she was the same age as your child, and it was by far my favorite trip I've taken to date! There's nothing like seeing that sparkle and wonder in their eyes when they see Mickey Mouse for the first time, their favorite character (in my daughter's case, Princess Merida!), and riding Dumbo the Flying Elephant and soaring up! I am so excited that you have chosen to bring your child their age! It is a question I have been asked time and time again, "when is the right age to bring my child to Disney?" I always say you're never too young!
Jamiee, another nice perk of bringing your child at 1 year old is that they are FREE! Yep, free until 3 years old! So enjoy visiting all 4 theme parks with the baby! Some tricks that have worked for me in the past include packing a separate bag just with diapers, wipes, and baby food pouches. Make sure to overpack! You can never have enough diapers on hand, but if you need to purchase some while in the park, make sure to stop by any of the
Baby Care Centers, not only do they have a small shop to purchase necessities, they also have rooms to change baby and provide a quiet space needed for a feeding or a nap. They were just remodeled and are so beautiful! I also recommend breakfast or dinner at
Chef Mickey's, located at Disney's Contemporary Resort. We took our daughter there to meet Mickey Mouse and crew for dinner, and it was so fun! The food is also delicious! Plus, hopping on the monorail right after to head to Disney's Magic Kingdom Park is the icing on the cake, you can't beat it!
Jaimee, I hope all of these tips help! Enjoy visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth with your little one!
