I have a 80 year old mother who will need a scooter. Cannot stand in lines. What park has options for us?

Howdy, Beth, and welcome to planDisney! I'm thrilled to help you plan a magical Walt Disney World Resort visit with your sweet mom. I treasure my visits with my parents; those Disney memories sparkle a bit brighter than others. Let's look at how you can keep your mother comfy on your upcoming adventure!

I'm happy to share that your mom can rent an Electronic Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) at all four theme park entrances. These are available on a first-come basis, so I suggest heading to the theme park to secure one as early as possible each day. When I visited Magic Kingdom Park around 2:00 p.m. last week, I overheard a Cast Member say there was a waiting list. It looks like the early bird catches the ECV!

Another option is to contact the Disney Featured Provider for a length-of-stay equipment rental. ScooterBug is a local company that will deliver an ECV to your Disney Resort hotel. Your mom can use it to get around the resort and to and from the parks. Most complimentary resort transportation will accommodate ECVs, so she'll be riding in style! You can contact ScooterBug at (800) 726-8284.

Once she's settled aboard her trusty electric steed, your mom can easily maneuver any of the parks. Walkways are paved and relatively flat at all four theme parks, so I vote you sample them all! She can stay seated through most queues, and Cast Members will let you know if an alternate entrance is available to avoid stairs.

When I visited in a wheelchair a few years ago, I asked at each attraction entrance about procedures for staying in my wheelchair and boarding ride vehicles. Cast Members were fabulous at giving us directions for their specific attractions. You can also find helpful tips and information on the Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page.

Beth, I hope you make some memories to treasure with your mother soon. If you take it slow and soak it all in, your time together will be the best souvenir. Please stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
