My 4 year old loves loves loves Cars! We're going to Disney California Adventure this week, Thursday Feb 22, 2024 and I'm just now seeing that Cars Land is closed? Or closing? Can you advise on the status of the rides so I can manage expectations?

    Hi there, Mandy!

Thanks so much for your question! As a fellow mom, I know that managing expectations is key when it comes to kids on vacation. I'm thrilled to give you some advice for your big race day at the parks!

I have great news for you because Cars Land is definitely NOT closing. I'm so sorry that you read something that had you worried, sometimes unofficial sites post crazy things just to get people to click their headlines.

I always recommend checking the official Hours & Events Calendar on the Disneyland website, where you'll see that on the day of your visit the current "Closed for Refurbishment" listings do not include anything in Cars Land. Whew! Sometimes rides do go down temporarily, but it looks like the coast is clear as far as planned pit stops during your visit.

So now let's talk about the important thing: how to enjoy all the Cars Land awesomeness with your little one! There are three attractions in Cars Land, but there's also lots of great food, photo opportunities, and characters to meet. With a kiddo who is a Cars fan, you can easily spend a good part of your day here. Some good things to know:

My absolute favorite time of day in Cars Land is as the sun is setting because that's when the tunes come on and the neon lights up! Check online for what time the sun is setting in Anaheim that day and be in Cars Land a few minutes before then so you can cruise during this magical moment. Life could be a dream!

Mandy, I'm so glad that there aren't any planned refurbishments to put a speed bump in your trip. I hope you and your family have an amazing day from start to champion-worthy finish!

    Keep moving forward!
