Hi Stacey! Your kids are at great ages for a Walt Disney World vacation!
To visit more than one park on the same day, you would need the Park Hopper option on your tickets. If you don't have the Park Hopper, once you use your base ticket for admission to one park, the ticket will not allow you to enter a second park that day. I'm a big fan of the Park Hopper and I almost always add it to my tickets because I like the flexibility of being able to visit multiple parks. However, if you're looking for ways to save money, you can have a great time without the Park Hopper.
The Disney water parks are a lot of fun, and if your kids love swimming and water slides, they would love Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. If, however, this visit will be your first Disney vacation, you could easily save money by forgoing the water parks on this trip -- your family would have plenty to do in the main parks for 7 days!
