I have a 10, 7, 6, and 3 year old and are going to Hollywood Studios in which most of the lightning lane rides are rides that my 3 year old is not tall enough for. Do I still need to get the 3 year old a lightning lane pass or could she still ride with us?

    Hi Michelle!

Welcome back to planDisney! What a trip you have coming up! Let’s go over what you’ll need to know about the Lightning Lane services at Hollywood Studios

You will need to purchase Lightning Lane services for everyone in your party who is 3 and older that wants access to the Lightning Lanes. So, if you think your 3-year-old will be joining you in some of the Lightning Lanes at the park, you’ll need to purchase a Lightning Lane service for her (Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Premier Pass).

At 3 years old, my boys loved Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucers, and all of the shows that are included in Lightning Lane Multi Pass. My middle guy was even adventurous enough to take on Slinky Dog Dash when he was 3! So, for us, we found that Lightning Lane Multi Pass was still worth it even though they couldn’t ride the bigger rides.

It’s good to note that, of the attractions I mentioned, Alien Swirling Saucers and Slinky Dog Dash both have height requirements, so that may play a role in what your daughter is able to ride.

If some of your party wants to ride Rise of the Resistance and bypass the standby queue, that's offered via Lightning Lane Single Pass (pending availability). I recommend purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass for your group first, and then purchasing Lightning Lane Single Pass in a separate transaction for only those who will be riding. That way, you don’t need to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for your 3-year-old if she doesn’t want to ride or can’t ride.

While you’re enjoying your day at Hollywood Studios, don’t miss Fantasmic that night! It’s been a highlight for my family during past trips. You can even snag VIP seating for the show if you book a Fantasmic Dining Package. That’s been such a great perk for our family, so we don’t need to get to the show super early with our little ones.

I hope you have the best time! Let us know if you have any other questions.
