Our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter is a very picky eater. We've purchased a Dining plan for her. Is this cost effective or should we just buy her meals as we go?

    Dear Marilyn,

Thank you so much for stopping by again to see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question about planning for your granddaughter's trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Choosing the Disney Dining Plan still gives your picky eater a wide variety of choices when it comes to meal planning, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. The kids' menus are varied from restaurant to restaurant and have lots of choices for different food preferences. Have you taken some time to look at the menus of the restaurants that you have chosen for your trip? I definitely recommend that ahead of time, especially when you are traveling with someone who might have specific dietary preferences. That would be especially important when you are planning for Quick-Service restaurants, where there are more limited options in terms of variety of food in a specific location.

Also, the Walt Disney World Resort does an amazing job of accommodating many types of food preferences, allergies, and other concerns. For example, my daughter is not a fan of sauce on her pasta or vegetables, and when we were at 'Ohana the other night, the server brought out a plate of steamed broccoli and plain pasta just for her as she had asked. It is rare that a child's palate cannot be accommodated at most Table-Service restaurants.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
