If a 14 year old goes into Disneyland/California adventure alone with a Southern California resident ticket do they need to bring a government issued id?

    Hey there, hi there, Eufemia!

We're so glad that you dropped by planDisney to ask a question of us! I lived in Southern California for a number of years and I still remember how magical it was to have the Disneyland Resort in such close proximity. It was such a thrill to be able to travel to the Parks even for half a day. And it's someplace that I also feel comfortable allowing my children to explore on their own, so I appreciate your question.

Only adults (18 years and older) are required to present ID when using a location based ticket like the Southern California Resident Ticket. Minors do not have to show ID when entering the Parks and must be a minimum of 14 years of age to travel on their own. Minors younger than 13 years old must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older. Just to make sure that my information is correct, I also contacted a Cast Member who confirmed this answer, so your child should be all set to go on their own! Just make sure that they also have a valid reservation!

My daughter was about the same age when I allowed her to roam the Parks on her own armed only with a Disney Gift Card and her smartphone. She gained a lot of confidence in a safe and friendly environment and I love that the Happiest Place on Earth can offer this. I hope that your child has a fantastic visit as well!

Eufemia, please feel free to visit us again if you need anything further. We'd love to hear from you again so we hope to see ya again real soon!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
