Can my 11 year old daughter order from the kids menu using one of her "adult" credits? Or does she have to order from the adult menus?

Hi Cassie! I have a 13-year-old son who loves that he is considered an adult at Walt Disney World, but he doesn't want any part of the food on the adult menu. My son is a very picky eater, so he prefers the standard kids' fare on the children's menus, and every Disney restaurant we've visited has allowed him to order from the kids' menu.  Obviously, the cost of a child's meal is much cheaper than the cost of an adult meal at Disney, so using your daughter's adult dining plan to pay for kids' meals is not the most cost-effective use of her meal credits, although a few restaurants may give her an adult-sized portion of the kiddie meal. However, if she wishes to eat from the children's menus, she's free to order from them. (Some parents choose to pay out-of pocket for their child's kiddie meal and save the adult dining credit for use at another meal.)

If a particular restaurant doesn't have your daughter's favorite foods on the adult menu, don't hesitate to ask for them anyway. My son loves grilled cheese sandwiches, and he is able to order one at many Disney restaurants, even if they aren't listed on the menu: For example, 'Ohana brought him an adult-sized portion of grilled cheese and french fries, and the Yak & Yeti made him a grilled cheese on a hamburger bun. Buffets are also good dining choices for picky eaters. Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace have so many options; there's something for everyone.
