My 2 year old daughter and I will be making our first trip to Disney World Apr 28. Would Fantasmic be worthwhile for her? Also, do you think half a day would be enough time spent at Epcot? What should we be sure to see for the Flower and Garden Fest?

I bet your daughter is so excited! I can understand your concern about Fantasmic, it can be a rather loud and frightening show. There are a number of sections in the show that include darkness, bright flashes of light and loud noises, however the show also includes fun Disney songs, water, colorful lasers, beautiful floats and our favorite Disney stars. My boys have been experiencing Fantasmic since they were infants with no problems. The seats are across the water from the main stage where the "battle" occurs and there is so much going on with the lights and lasers that our boys were never frightened by the show. Only you will know your daughter's personality best, but I would encourage you to try the show. You can always sit towards the back of the ampitheater and leave if it becomes to much for her. Hopefully she will enjoy the performance as much as our boys always have. Our family thinks it is one of the most amazing shows that Disney performs.

Depending on what you are hoping to experience, I think a half day at Epcot would not be enough time at this park. Enjoying the Flower and Garden festival is a great idea, and if you are just looking to take in the festival events, you most likely would be able to see and do a majority of these things in a half day. Do not forget though, that Epcot is home to numerous rides and shows that you might want to experience. If your daughter is a Nemo fan she would probably love The Living Seas with Nemo and friends. The Land is home to one of the most popular Disney World rides Soarin and Spaceship Earth just re-opened recently after a major refurbishment. This is just the beginning as the World Showcase is a wonderful place to stroll and experience the history and beauty of so many other countries. If your schedule allows for it I would plan at least one full day there.

Hope you have a magical trip!
