    Hi there, I have a 15.5 year old daughter who loves animals. I see there is a tour called backstage safari, but it indicates the age is 16 and older. How rigid are they about age? Any other suggestions for other type of animal related events besides AK?

    HI!

    I am a huge fan of the tours and special experiences at Walt Disney World. Unfotunately, the Backstage Safari is for age 16 & up. However, there are a few other tours available:
    • Dolphins in Depth - At Epcot, this tour introduces Dolphins to animal lovers - up close and personal! Age requirements are 13 & up with adult
    • Epcot Seas Aqua Tour - At Epcot, you'll be able to swim in the Living Seas aquarium. Ages 8 & above are welcome with an adult. This tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours and brings you up close to all sorts of aquatic life
    • Wild by Design - At Animal Kingdom, the tour is not quite about the animals themselves but does include information on designing the park with the animals in mind. There may be more information on buildings than you are interested in however. Ages 14 & up 
    One other option, if it fits your budget, are two tours available to Animal Kingdom Lodge guests:
    • The Sunrise Safari is offered to Club Level guests of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. This tour brings you behind the scenes at Animal Kingdom before the park opens. Its open to all ages.
    • The Sunset Safari is open to all guests of Animal Kingdom Lodge (although Club Level guests do receive a discount) and takes you through the lodge's wildlife areas for up-close viewing of the zebras, giraffes, wildebeest and other savanna animals. Ages are 8 & up and it also includes dinner at Jiko.
    And, lastly, there is an additional behind the scenes tour that is open to club level guests of all Disney resorts. The Wildlife Discovery Excursion is a wonderful experience that will bring you up close to the animals of the Animal Kingdom's Kilimanjaro Safari.
