My 17 year old is coming to Disney world on a class trip. She is having difficulty adding her credit card to her My Disney Experience. It will not give a prompt to add credit card. Do you have to be 18?

    Welcome to planDisney, Christy!

How exciting for your Mouseketeer to head to The Most Magical Place on Earth on a class trip! I would have loved to visit the magic with my classmates. I’m sure you want to be sure she is prepared with all the excitement, and I’m happy to help! If she’s still packing, I recommend checking out planDisney Panelists’ Top 10 Packing Tips!

Christy, to have a credit card on file in My Disney Experience account, Guests must be 18 or older. However, all is not lost. Although it would not be linked to the My Disney Experience account, you could purchase a Disney Gift Card to send with her for purchases. I like to have my Disney Gift Card number copied in my Notes app on my phone so that when I’m making my Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering purchases through the My Disney Experience Mobile app, I can quickly copy and paste the Disney Gift Card number during the payment process.

You can also create an account on the Disney Gift Card website to combine different Disney Gift Cards into one of up to the monetary value of $1000. The good thing about having this account is that you can transfer the money from one gift card to another. For example, I once ended up losing my Disney Gift Card, so I quickly purchased another one and moved all the funds from there to the new card. Crises averted!

We can’t wait to welcome your Mouseketeer to the magic, Christy! I hope she has an enchanting visit with her pals!
