I have a 10 year old w/ a b-day 3 wks after our cruise. She want to go in the Edge too . My concern is the check yourself out option. can we still get something like a pager. Can she join in both clubs during the cruise. She has a lot of Cousins going.

    Hi there Christa!

Welcome back to the Moms Panel!  When I took my first cruise on the Disney Magic, we had seven cousins that made some magical memories while onboard!  I'm sure your family is going to have a blast from the minute you step onboard!

I spoke directly with Disney Cruise Line (DCL) about your particular situation.  When you board the ship, please speak directly with one of the youth counselors about your daughter.  If the youth counselor gives her permission to move up to Edge, she will only be allowed to be a part of this program and not the Oceaneer Club/Lab.  With her participating in Edge, there are no pagers for the parents like for the younger set.  The tweens that experience Edge do have the freedom to come and go as they like.  There are Wave Phones available for communicating between family members for use during the cruise. The youth counselors will let allow your daughter to use the house phone to call you on your Wave Phone before leaving Edge.

Please let me know if you have further questions!

Have a wonderful day and happy sailing!
