Welcome Home, Karyl! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. It's always a treat when I get to yap about all things
Disney Vacation Club with a fellow Member! It looks like we have some serious DVC math on our hands, and I'm happy to help with your question.
Even though we've been DVC Members for more than ten years, I still find myself double-checking all of the ins and outs of our
Vacation Points to make sure I have all of my ducks in a row! For an October
Use Year, your annual allotment of points is allocated every year on October 1, and the deadline to
bank points to the following year is May 31.
Once those points are moved to the next Use Year, they cannot be banked or borrowed again. However, your regular allocation of points for that year
can be borrowed if you choose to book a trip this summer.
Of course, you still have some time left to use your current points for a magical getaway! You can also exchange your Vacation Points for a stay at any of the
Disney Collection resorts, which gives you a wide range of options for accommodations. I recommend checking out the
Points Charts, which will show you exactly how many points are required for each resort, organized by season and type of accommodation. If you decide to stay at one of the Florida hotels, simply contact
Member Services for a friendly assist. The Cast Members will be able to exchange your points and book your reservation. There is a one-time, non-refundable fee (currently $95, subject to change) associated with the transaction.
Karyl, I also want to make sure you're aware of one of my favorite recent Member perks -
Membership Magic Beyond! This is an enhanced benefits package available for Members who have purchased their Membership directly from DVC. For $99 (also subject to change!), you can unlock priority Member Lounge access, special Character experiences, a one-time
Memory Maker entitlement, and more! If you are thinking about a vacation exchange for a trip this summer, Membership Magic Beyond also lets you waive the transaction fee, which is a great savings!
I hope this information is just what you need to use your Membership however it works best for you, Karyl! If you have any other questions about using your Vacation Points or any other aspects of DVC, please don't hesitate to
send another question my way.
Stay Magical,
Susan
