    Y'all have been a tremendous help planning for our Sept trip! (in 35 days!!) Thank you!! My ?: Saw on allearsnet that a premium will be on meals at certain restaurants now. What does that mean? We'll have basic dining. Does that affect us?

    I believe what you're referring to is the holiday surcharge pricing. Based on the time of your travel, the special pricing will likely not impact you, but let me explain what this is for general knowledge:

    There are holiday surcharges in place for many of the table service restaurants during the most busy times. These surcharges have been applied for several years now. Basically what this means is that a restaurant that cost something like $25 during most of the year, will cost something like $28 during the Christmas season. As a dining plan participant this would not impact you much at all other than with tipping. If you are a party of six more, an 18% gratuity bill will automatically be presented to you at the end of your meal. The gratuity would be calculated on the cost of the meal, which at Christmas would be higher than in September. A party of smaller than six would still need to leave a gratuity, but they would be able to choose how much to leave.
