Hi Yall, I'm really looking forward to my first time visit Disney World. Im allergic to dairy, cow dairy to be more specific. I love burgers, hotdog and "vegan mac and cheese. Are there dairy free burgers or vegan mac and cheese options?

    Hiya Kitty,

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your allergy question! As a mom of a daughter with a dairy allergy, and as someone who manages food allergies myself, I completely understand how important it is to plan before a Disney World vacation. The good news is that Disney does an incredible job accommodating food allergies, which is one of the many reasons my family feels so comfortable dining throughout the parks.

Kitty, you will be happy to know that Disney is allergy-friendly, and you can find allergy-conscious dining options across all of the theme parks and resorts. One of our family's favorite spots is Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café in Magic Kingdom. My daughter has enjoyed several dairy-friendly options there, including burgers made with plant-based cheddar. We have also had great success at Connections in EPCOT, where she can often find allergy-friendly burger options. Over at Animal Kingdom, Flame Tree Barbecue has also offered dairy-friendly hot dog selections that have worked well for our family.

Just keep in mind that menus can change. Therefore, I highly recommend checking the dining menus in the My Disney Experience app before your trip. This is a great way to preview allergy-friendly options and start planning your meals before you even step foot into the most magical place on earth.

When dining, always let a Cast Member know about your milk allergy. In my experience, Disney Cast Members are very helpful and will often ask if you would like to speak with a chef.  I always highly recommend speaking to the chef. Often, chefs can suggest modifications or options that may not be immediately apparent on the menu, giving you even more choices.

One thing I especially appreciate is Disney's allergy protocols. Allergy-friendly meals are typically clearly marked and often served separately to help ensure accuracy. If you ever have any questions about your meal or don't see an allergy marker when you expect one, never hesitate to ask a Cast Member.

Kitty, I hope this helps answer your question! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to visit us again.

    See you real soon,
