Hi! I wrote you regarding the events/themes on the Western Caribbean Disney Fantasy and wanted to give the dates to get a better idea. The cruise leaves on May 20, 2023! Another question I had was if you recommend any specific excursions?

    Welcome back, Morgan!

Thank you for writing again, it’s fun to connect with you and keep helping you plan this special vacation! I’m glad you found our first chat helpful and I appreciate the additional details. I’m happy to share the specific evening attire for your sailing:

    • Saturday: Port Canaveral, Florida – Cruise Casual
    • Sunday: At Sea – Formal
    • Monday: Cozumel, Mexico – Cruise Casual
    • Tuesday: George Town, Grand Cayman – Pirate Night
    • Wednesday: Falmouth, Jamaica – Cruise Casual
    • Thursday: At Sea – Semi Formal

I hope this helps with your packing and planning for the specific evenings. Please see this question I recently answered for another Guest regarding requests for specific dining rotations.

Thanks for asking about Port Adventures! I’ll share my favorites and what worked for my family (my son was about 8 years old when we sailed the Western Caribbean).

In Cozumel, we had such a fun day on the Fury Catamaran Sail Snorkel and Beach Party (CZ12)! The crew was great, and we had refreshments onboard with nice music and gorgeous scenery. Snorkeling in the open water was a mild workout, but we felt safe and loved seeing the gorgeous sea life (my favorite was a huge Caribbean lobster crawling along the sand). We finished the day at a private beach with inflatable climbing structures and kayaks in the water. In a few weeks we’re trying the Dune Buggy and Beach Snorkel Combo (CZ23) if you’d like to write back after Easter and I can share our experience.

The island of Grand Cayman is known for Stingray City, so we did the Adventure to the Stingray City Sandbar (G08) - what an experience! These majestic creatures swim around you, safely, while you stand in waist-deep water and learn about them. I even kissed one for seven years good luck – eek! Some of our favorite cruise photos and memories are from this unique day.

In Falmouth, we took a break and just enjoyed the beautiful port. Falmouth was created as a specialty cruise port, so it has a market and many restaurants in an open but securely enclosed area. We had a great lunch and purchased some goods from local vendors before enjoying more time onboard the Disney Fantasy. Many years ago I really enjoyed visiting Dunn's River Falls, and I think any Port Adventure there would be memorable.

On Disney Castaway Cay, my best advice is to enjoy a perfect beach day. We loved Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure (C13) - this is a different experience from Stingray City and you learn how to feed them on Mickey-shaped plates! We always rent floats, and you can select a mat or inner tube for each person when you arrive. If you’d like to snorkel and bicycle you can bundle them with a float in the Castaway Cay Getaway Package (C05).

You’re going to have such an amazing cruise, Morgan! Please let me know what other questions you have.

    Adventure is out there!
