I would like to get to Chef Mickey from Art of Animation. I read that the best way to get there it to take the bus, but I am wondering how long is the ride if I take the Skyrail to Epcot and then the monorail toward Contemporary resort? Thanks!

Hey there, Wendy!  It is nice to see you back with another great question.  There are so many fun transportation options at Walt Disney World Resort.  I'll be happy to help you figure out the best way to travel to your meal at Chef Mickey's from Disney's Art of Animation Resort.

What you read is correct; the most efficient way to travel using complimentary resort transportation would be to take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park. From there, it is a short walk or monorail ride to Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Traveling high in the sky on the Disney Skyliner is my favorite mode of transportation, so I can understand why you would like to incorporate this into your travel plan.  My recommendation would be to take the Skyliner to Disney's Hollywood Studios, and from there take a bus directly to Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Wendy, while theoretically possible under certain conditions, I would NOT recommend taking the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT.  The reason for this is the Skyliner station is located at the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT in World Showcase, while the monorail station is located at the main entrance.  Transferring to the monorail would require you to have a Disney Park Pass reservation and use admission to enter EPCOT.  Not only would you have a long walk through the park, but you would then also need to transfer monorail lines at the Transportation and Ticket Center.  The trip via Skyliner from Art of Animation to International Gateway takes approximately 25 minutes, plus a 15-20 minute walk, and approximately 30-40 minutes via monorail.  Building in extra time for transfers, I would allow 2 hours to do it this way.

Using bus transportation will likely take an hour or less including waiting for the next bus; a good rule of thumb is to allow 90 minutes.  I would rather be too early for my dining reservation than stressed about missing it.  If you have extra time, browse the shops or grounds at Disney's Contemporary Resort, taking some time for family photos.

Did you know you can find transit directions in the My Disney Experience mobile app?  Use the search button at the bottom of the screen to type in your destination, select "Get Directions", and enter your starting location.  There are icons to indicate which transportation mode to use and step-by-step instructions.

I hope that helps!  Please feel free to stop by planDisney again with any additional questions you may have.
