I am worried that my 8 year old will not be completely happy @ the oceaneer lab. She is a social butterfly, however a little attached to her mom. What if she does not find a compatible friend? I don't want to be off relaxing if she upset.

    Hi Belinda!
Your daughter sounds a lot like mine, and she has made a friend on all of our past cruises!  The first night all the youth spaces host ice breaker type activities so everyone can get to know the fabulous counselors and other young sailors on the ship!  I definitely recommend dropping your daughter off during this time so she can make some new friends and begin to feel comfortable with the Oceaneer Club and Lab.  I think you will be surprised at how much she enjoys all the planned programming and free time offered by these amazing spaces!
If she does want to leave, the youth counselors will contact you via your wavephone.  It is a type of "cellphone" that only works on the ship and on Castaway Cay.  It can call and text and each stateroom is equipped with two phones.
Each day your Personal Navigator will list all the fun planned for the Oceaneer Club and Lab so I definitely recommend bringing along some highlighters of different colors so your daughter can mark which activities she wants to participate in.   Your stateroom host/hostess will leave one in your stateroom each evening, and you can also pick up additional copies at Guest Services.
I hope my answer makes you feel better about your upcoming sailing! If I can assist you further, please let me know!
    Have a magical day!
