I have been so worried about the heat - gonna be in the 90s all week next week! (Will we miserable!?) Anyway, I forgot about the inside places like restaurants. Is it cold in the AC - like should we bring a sweater for stuff like this?

    HI Andrea,

Yes, Walt Disney World can be very hot for much of the year, but they do their best to keep guests cool and comfortable.

A great strategy during peak heat season is to arrive at the parks early. Tour in the morning, when things are cooler, then spend your afternoon at the resort pool or a movie at Downtown Disney. In the evening, when the sun starts to go downtown, you can venture back out again for the fireworks.

If you do choose to stay out all day, there are many attractions which are indoor and air-conditioned. I would save these for the afternoon. And yes, I do sometimes find the air conditioning to be chilly and generally do bring a light sweater with me.

You should know that all the counter service restaurants will be happy to give you a free cup of ice or ice water, just ask. You can also keep a cool washcloth with you and drape it around your neck.

The summer is a wonderful time to explore Disney's water parks too. They're the ultimate way to keep cool.

With a little planning, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Enjoy!
