I worked in the kids club on Disney Magic 2003. I am SO excited to go on my first Disney Cruise (as a guest) with my 3 kids and husband this summer. My 5 year old is convinced Captain Mickey will remember me. Is there a way to confirm this magic for her?

    Welcome back, Alex!

Wow! A former Cast Member with Disney Cruise Line is getting ready to take her own kids on their first Disney Cruise Line vacation. What a vacation this will be for your family! I wish I knew which ship you would be sailing on so I could give you some fun tips on all the updates that have taken place since you were on the Disney Magic in 2003. You guys are in for such an awesome experience! Plus, you know that your kids are in for the time of their lives in the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, since you helped create that magic yourself back then!

As you know, there are plenty of chances to meet Captain Mickey onboard the ship, including in the lobby of the cruise terminal before you set sail since he's known to pop out there to greet guests at times. Whenever it is that you see him first, you should surely walk up to him with a hug and say, "Mickey, it's great to see you again. Do you remember when I used to work in the Youth Clubs onboard the Disney Magic? Well, now I'm back with my own kids!" I almost guarantee he will acknowledge you and show the kids that he remembers you for sure! He's like that, you know! A mouse with a good memory!

One big thing that is different from when you were a Cast Member onboard is the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Be sure to download this to your mobile devices before you arrive at the port. Once onboard, this will be your go-to app to find menus, maps, activity schedules, a fun onboard texting feature you can use with others in your family on the ship, and yes, those Character Greeting schedules, so you know where to find your old pal Mickey!

Have such fun planning and please, Alex, stop back again with more questions over the summer if we can help with anything else before you set sail!

    Have an amazing cruise!
