How does it work with gratuities and tipping on the ship? Is their a standard amount? Can you prepay the tips? We will be leaving on the Fantasy June 23rd for 7 nights.

    Ahoy Christine!

I'm so glad you are back with more questions!  I just returned from the Fantasy, and I'm so excited for you to cruise on this magnificent ship in just two months!  You are going to love everything about Disney's newest gem!

The service you receive from the moment you step aboard is going to blow you away!  In my opinion, Disney's crewmembers are the best on the seven seas!  Customary gratuities are given to the castmembers that provide you daily service while other tipping is at your discretion such as the spa services and Port Adventure guides.  A 15% tip is always added to any bar service charge, and cash is needed for any room service tips.

For a seven-night voyage, Disney Cruise Line recommends budgeting $12 per person, per day.  This amount covers your dining room server, dining room asst. server, dining room head server, and stateroom host or hostess.  You can pre-pay up to three days prior to sailing or once you are aboard.  If you pay ahead of time, you will receive pre-paid vouchers along with envelopes to give out on the last night of your cruise.  If you want to give cash instead, you can bring your own envelopes from home or pick some up from Guest Services or ask your stateroom host or hostess.

Thanks again for visiting the Moms Panel!  Please let me know if you think of anything else!

    Have a fantastical day!
