Hi Jesus, and welcome to planDisney. I’m always happy to chat about
runDisney, the most magical races on Earth!
The virtual runDisney races are such a great way to stay motivated when you can’t get to Disney World or Disneyland to participate in person. Unfortunately, runDisney hasn’t had a virtual option for the in-person race weekends since last year. They’ve been focusing on race series exclusive to virtual participants, including the
12Ks of Christmas last December, the
Love on the Run 14-Miler this spring, and the Disney Parks-themed
Virtual Series this summer. These races are currently sold out but keep an eye on runDisney’s
blog and
Instagram account for details on upcoming virtual series. These races often have fun finisher gifts, like the Love on the Run 14-Miler’s fluffy blanket and the Virtual Series’ Mickey ear hat.
If you wanted to create your own virtual race for the
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, you could still run the 5k, 10k, or Half Marathon on your own at home. To commemorate your achievement, you could purchase something personalized from the
Disney Store. For instance, you can add text to a
drinking glass with Mickey and Minnie on the front! Or the next time you’re at one of the theme parks, you could personalize a Mickey ear hat or headband. If you want a medal from the race weekend, I’ve seen runners give away or sell their race bling online, especially from families who have multiple medals from completing the same race together.
Happy training for whatever your next race may be! And don’t forget, every mile is truly magic when it comes to runDisney.
