Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Virginia! You must be so excited about your upcoming trip. It will be here before you know it!
You've made a fantastic choice to stay at
Disney's Contemporary Resort! It's home to two of my favorite restaurants on property (The Wave and California Grill), and the short walk to Magic Kingdom Park puts this resort at the top of my list! Make sure to catch the Electrical Water Pageant at least once during your stay. It's a whimsical light parade that debuted at Walt Disney World in 1971, and it will float right by your resort on Bay Lake shortly after 10:00 PM nightly (it's something we watch on every trip, and it really tugs at my heartstrings).
I visited the Contemporary recently, and I decided to stop in at the Pixar Play Zone because I was curious- boy, were they having a good time in there! The Cast Members do a fantastic job of making this a safe and fun location for children to experience the magic of Disney while giving adults the opportunity for some kid-free time. Pixar Play Zone began last spring as a pilot program, and it was intended to last a year, which explains why you're only seeing reservations through the end of March. I've heard word that a similar experience is in the works and is set to open soon, possibly at Disney's Beach Club resort with a pirate theme. I know this may not be quite as convenient, but it would give you an excellent chance to have some adult time to explore the Epcot's World Showcase or Disney's BoardWalk entertainment area. Keep checking the
Disney Parks Blogs for updates, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that an announcement will be made before your trip.
Virginia, I hope you have a vacation full of pixie dust and magical memories!
