Word on Characters coming back to Ohana? If it does (staying at the cabins) can we drive over to the Poly, have breakfast and then leave the car at the Poly for the day & take monorail over to MK or do we need to take the car back to Fort Wilderness?

Hi Heather! Welcome back to planDisney!

After dozens and dozens of trips to Walt Disney World Resort, almost every spot has some significance to me or a member of my family. However, I have to say that 'Ohana takes the cake as one of my most cherished and most magical memories.  Way back before the restaurant was even called 'Ohana, my parents brought me to my very first Character Dining Experience at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  I was only three, but I remember it vividly and I've had a dream of staying at the Resort ever since! I'm hoping that my dream comes true on our next family vacation!

While I know that some dining experiences are made infinitely better by having friendly character pals coming up for meet and greets, I do have to say that this location, with its Mickey and Stitch-shaped waffles and 'Ohana pineapple bread, won't disappoint even without them there!  While I don't have any updates on when or if Stitch and his friends will be returning to this location, I suggest keeping your eye on the Disney Parks Blog, as they will be the first to announce any changes coming to 'Ohana!

If you plan on breakfast at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, either at 'Ohana or the always delicious Kona Cafe, and want to bring your car, I think I've found a perfect solution! While you will be able to park at the Resort for your dining reservation, the Resort parking lots are usually small and Guests with dining reservations are not able to leave their car and head to a Theme Park for the day.   However, because the parking lot for Magic Kingdom (the Transportation and Ticket Center) and the Polynesian Resort are right on the Disney Monorail line, you and your party could easily park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and take a quick and magical ride to the Polynesian! After breakfast, you won't have to worry about moving your car and you can take another quick zip on the Monorail straight to the entrance of Magic Kingdom.  Since Standard Theme Park Parking is included with your stay at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, you won't even have to worry about paying for parking at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Stay tuned for news and updates surrounding 'Ohana and come back and see us again if you have any other planning questions!

When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
