    I was just wondering if it is worth it to drive to the parks or take the Disney transportation. I was reading that by the time you park, and walk to the park, it takes much longer than the Disney trans. What would you all recommend?

    Eric,

    On those trips where I have had a rental car, I have still found myself in almost all cases leaving the car at the hotel lot, using it only for drives off-property. A few examples where I do use my car within Disney property are;

    •  If I am dining at a resort other than my own, I always drive. The transportation alternative is to take a bus to Downtown Disney, then take another bus. I am on vacation, not commuting to work! The only exception is if there is a direct way to get from my resort to the resort in question via a direct means, like walking, boat, or monorail.
    • Downtown Disney. If I know I am going to do a lot of shopping, I take the car. While I could have had the bags shipped back to my room, sometimes I just prefer to have them right away.
    • Disney Wide World of Sports and Golf Courses. Bus service can be sporadic, so I just bite the bullet and drive.
    • Fort Wilderness. Again, dependent on where you are coming from, the bus exchanges make just driving myself there much easier.

    Have a magical vacation!
