Hi, We were wondering if any of the Woods View room in the Port Orleans Riverside resort were on the ground level. We were wanting to come in 2025 for the marathon and definitely not wanting to use stairs after the race. Thank you.

Welcome to planDisney, Anna, and thanks for stopping by with this great question. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside was the first place my family stayed when we visited Walt Disney World Resort over 25 years ago, so it's our sentimental favorite. And I love the peacefulness of the Woods View rooms, so I like how you think! Let's look at where those rooms will be located and if any are on the ground floor.

I spoke to a friendly Cast Member who said the Woods View rooms at this resort are located in the Magnolia Bend section, and several rooms are on the ground floor. He suggested you make any special requests by calling Disney Resort Hotel Reservations, and they will do their best to accommodate you, although requests aren't guaranteed. He also confirmed that elevators are available in the Magnolia Bend section, so you'd have that option for your tired legs. I did a runDisney 5K last fall, and I was thankful for my ground floor room, so I get it, Anna!

Another way to take a load off while you're at the resort is to book a Horse Drawn Excursion - Carriage Ride. You can book this 25-minute scenic ride 60 days in advance, and I can't think of a more magical way to reward yourself after your run.

I'm sending pixie dust and stopwatches so your visit will be smooth sailing...or running! Please come back to planDisney anytime, Anna!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
