Hi Deanna!
Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. While we always have a fairly detailed plan for our Walt Disney World vacation, the Welcome Packet usually always has a little tidbit we weren't expecting that we will try and squeeze in!
You will receive your Welcome Packet when you check in at the front desk of your Walt Disney World Resort hotel! The Cast Member checking you in will usually go through it's contents with you. It usually includes a map of the property you are staying at so you know exactly where your room is in relation to the lobby, the dining options, the pools, etc. In addition to that there is usually an recreation agenda for things going on at your resort! I know at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, where we stayed on our most recent trip, there is a lot of opportunities to interact with Cast Members that call Africa home. They'll tell you about where they are from and some information on the animals on property and how they cared for. The time and place for things like this is usually found on this agenda. Another example, is if your Resort hotel is hosting a Disney Movie Night. On our trip, they were showing Finding Dory on a projection screen out by the
Uzima Springs Pool! There is usually also a small flyer that shows the Park hours for each day.
While a majority of the information can be found online, the recreation activities for your particular Walt Disney World Resort hotel is going to be the one item that may not be accessible online, so this is probably the thing I look most forward to! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
