I was wondering if the Teppan Edo is close to what Teppanyaki Dinning room was . Also do you think that Mickey Backyard BBq is ok for a two almost three year old. Thank You

Teppanyaki Dining was one of our favorite restaurants at WDW. I ate at the new restaurant in the Japan pavilion at Epcot, Teppan Edo, last week. I am happy to report that the experience there is still wonderful. The restaurant is a bit brighter and roomier. And otherwise Teppan Edo is very much like its predecesor, the chefs still cook on the table and the menu is, for all intents and purposes, the same.

Three is about the minimum aged that I'd recommend for any of the dinner shows. Even though there is entertainment and the opportunity to get up and move, there is still the need to be focused and calm for about two hours. That being said, the Backyard BBQ is geared to younger children. Characters will dance with audience members and most preschoolers will love this. The scene can be a bit noisy and crowded, however. So, if your child is uncomfortable with crowds, then I might postpone this event for a year.
