    Just wondering if there are any spots of grass (in any park) that we can throw down a blanket and rest in the shade. My DH and DS's 1 & 3 can, rest while me and DD7, ride a few extras. Going back to the room, seems like such a task. Thanks

    There are grassy areas in the theme parks, but they're all somewhat fenced off. There really isn't any soft spot to lay down a blanket. I've been searching the Disney site for a specific prohibition against what you're suggesting and haven't been able to find one, but the fact that in all many visits to the parks I have never seen anyone do this indicates to me that there must be some rule against it too.

    There are, however, plenty of shady benches in the parks. On several trips I was able to sit on a bench in the park while my twins napped in the stroller. This is a great opportunity to people watch, plan the next part of your day, or even take a peek at the newspaper. (Hubby always brought one from the hotel for just that purpose.)

    Of course the level of "task" involved in going back to your hotel room varies a lot depending on where you're staying, but I want to emphasize how important a mid-day break can be for all members of your group, not just the nappers. Even Disney-veteran adults like myself feel that theme-park fatigue often sets in at about the five hour mark of park touring. I find that a change of scenery like a leisurely sit-down lunch or a cooling swim goes a long way toward improving my level of enjoyment. And you'll want to make sure that your seven year old's feet are in good shape before you continue along in the parks all day.

    The water parks are a completely different situation, there are lounge chairs and sandy areas all over. You could certainly spread out a blanket for a nap at either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.
