I was wondering if someone can tell me about the Disney pins. My biggest question is how to start? We have never been to disney so don't have any to trade with to start. Also do you have to wear them on a lanyard? Can you wear them on a hat or backpack?

    Hi, Tony!
Thanks for checking in with the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You've come to the right place!

My kids and I have enjoyed pin trading for years. We started out simple. We purchased a starter lanyard with a four or so pins for trading. Then I gave the kids a small budget to buy extra pins. Most Cast Members across Walt Disney World Resort have pins they can trade. It is a lot of fun.

Many people use lanyards or pin books. But others keep their pins on hats or bags. I have gotten to the point where I have a hard time trading pins because so many of them hold memories of wonderful vacations. I don't want to let go of them! My kids are a lot more ready to make a trade.

You can purchase the pins at almost any store in Walt Disney World Resort. But you can also buy a starter collection from the Disney Store if you want to have it before you arrive on property.

I hope those tips help you have a great time trading! Let me know if you have any other questions before your unforgettable first visit to Disney!
