Hi there, I was wondering if reusable metal utensils are allowed in the parks. Thanks!

Hi, Kimberly! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Walt Disney once said that "conservation isn't just the business of a few people." This yEAR, the Walt Disney Company eliminated single-use plastic straws and plastic stirrers from their theme parks in a commitment to environmental stewardship. Mickey and I want to thank you for your efforts in bringing in your own reusable silverware. I checked the Walt Disney World Property Rules (and I confirmed with a Guest Services Cast Member), and although you'll have to leave knives at home, you are certainly able to bring metal spoons and forks into the Parks. I also like to pack reusable straws in my theme park bag. ShopDisney has some fun Mickey ones that come with a cleaning brush!

Many guests don't realize that they are also allowed to bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverage items into the Park, provided they are not in glass containers and don't require heating.  A good friend of mine always packs lunches for her Mouseketeers in a cooler, which she places in a locker (you can rent them for a small fee near the entrance).

I hope this gives you some food for thought, Kimberly! See ya' real soon!
