hi there we were wondering in regards to the dining situation in DTD do we have to book months in advance like some people have suggested if so how do we do this from australia. for charcter dining etc thank you

For many of the most popular Walt Disney World restaurants, yes, you do need to make reservations many months in advance. This is particularly true for character dining experiences which often become fully booked as many as five or six months ahead of time.

No worries. Disney has now made it easy to make dining reservations from afar. Simply go to the Disney Dining website at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/ You can make all your meal reservations online.

For the counterpoint to this, you may want to look at an article I wrote for disneyfoodblog.com called "A Holiday Without Dining Reservations." You'll see there that some of the Disney restaurants do have last minute availability - you wouldn't starve without reservations. But if you want to eat at the most popular spots or at some of the most iconic restaurants, making advance plans is a must.

    Good luck!
