Hello Kelly!
It looks like your trip is just around the corner! You are in for a treat at
Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. It is one of my family’s
Disney Vacation Club Home Resorts, and we never tire of staying at this fabulous resort. We love the light and bright rooms and the nightlife on Disney’s BoardWalk, but more importantly, we appreciate being able to walk to two theme parks! This resort is even more magical during the holidays. Just wait until you see the gorgeous decorations in the lobby! And if you have time during your visit, take a walk over to Disney’s Beach Club Resort to see (and smell) the amazing gingerbread carousel! (Pro Tip: Look for the Hidden Mickeys on the carousel!)
When my family has an early morning breakfast, I find it easiest to take a taxi or use a ride share service. While buses typically begin running one hour before park opening, this can be cutting it tight when trying to get to another resort hotel, or if your reservation is significantly before park opening. When going to
Disney’s Contemporary Resort from Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, you could take a bus to Magic Kingdom, and then walk to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. But you should leave yourself 60 to 90 minutes to do this, and depending on how early your reservation is, you could be cutting it too close for comfort. If you end up waiting 20 to 30 minutes for a bus, you could find yourself running to breakfast! As a family of 6, we usually have the valet call us a Mears Taxi Van. The actual travel time from resort to resort is approximately 10-15 minutes, so I like to give myself 30 minutes to make the journey. (Can you tell, I really don’t like to be late?) If we hit it right and are early for our reservation that just means we have time to browse the gift shop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
I hope this helps with your planning. Wishing you a magical visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort!
