Hello Lara,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney today. We're always happy to help!
As you may have heard, some changes were implemented to the
Disability Access Service (DAS) in May. If you've used the service on previous visits you'll notice a difference in the registration process as well as the maximum number of guests that can be included in your party. Since you're visiting from across the pond, you'll need to complete the registration process via Virtual Chat once you've arrived stateside. Don't worry if you don't have a laptop or smartphone to access the chat. You can visit Guest Relations in the park on the first day of your visit to borrow a device.
During your Virtual Chat, you'll discuss your needs with a specially trained Cast Member who may bring in a medical partner, as needed, to determine the appropriate accommodations. Each person requesting DAS will need to complete their own Virtual Chat, and you'll want to ensure that everyone in the travel party is linked via the Family & Friends List. If approved, the DAS-eligible guest can select 3 additional guests to accompany them per eligible experience. I don't believe two DAS-eligible guests can merge their groups to create one large party, but you can likely coordinate overlapping attraction return times so that everyone can experience things together.
If DAS is not deemed the appropriate accommodation, Cast Members will discuss
alternate accommodations available to assist your group. I also recommend reviewing the
Accessibility Planning Guide & Recommendations prior to your visit.
I hope this helps Lara. If you have any additional questions as you prepare for your visit next February please don't hesitate to come back to planDisney and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
