Kaltxì, Katie! It's great to see you here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel again! I hear you need a little assistance, or srung as the Na'vi say, with planning your upcoming trip to the
Valley of Mo'ara. Well, you've come to the right place!
Satu'li Canteen is themed as a long-ago an RDA (Resources Development Administration) mess hall, which is now owned and operated by Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE). Make sure to look around at all the details, as the Imagineers made sure that this eatery accurately reflects the Na'vi culture. One of the fun, but strange offerings from Satu'li Canteen is a steamed Bao Bun filled with ground beef, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and cheese. The Steamed Cheeseburger Pod's filling is uniformly mixed together, so no worries about biting into a pickle or lump of mustard, which may prevent picky eaters from complaining. Because these are made ahead of time, there isn't an option to customize them without the mustard. My younger Mouseketeers have a pretty bland palate, so, unfortunately, they did not give it a thumbs up, but my husband happily gobbled up their leftovers and claimed that it tasted exactly like a McDonald's cheeseburger. Other kid-friendly options include the "Teylu" All-Beef Hot Dog Wrapped in Dough or a Cheese Quesadilla. The Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse we ordered was surprisingly delicious, and it's the perfect refreshing dessert without being too heavy. My kids polished this off this faster than their lunches!
My best Moms Panel tip for experiencing the best of Pandora's food is to
Mobile Order your meal ahead of time. Everything is done through your
My Disney Experience app, and when you arrive, just press "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" in the app so the kitchen knows to prepare your entrees. You'll get a push notification a few minutes later you when it's ready for pick-up. Easy peasy!
Kìyevame, Katie...see ya' real soon!
